[General] Academic Conference with Vietnam National University(VNU) at Hanoi

On January 5, 2024, Department of Global Economics at SKKU and Vietnam National University(VNU) participated in an academic conference held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
This academic conference, hosted at the Vietnam National University, was held to strengthen the international exchange network between students majoring in economics in both Korea and Vietnam and to share research results on global economic issues.
12 students(11 undergraduate students, 1 master student), and 2 professors of SKKU, and about 20 students and 11 professors of VNU participated in the final presentation of the conference.
Professor Nguyen An Thinh of VNU shared his research with a special lecture on "The Power of Innovation: How Vietnam Became an Emerging Economy," and Professor Yeonha Jung gave a special lecture on "Agrarian Origins of Indigenousism and Collectivism.“
Through participation in these academic conferences, it is expected that students will gain undergraduate research experience and continue to expand their international exchange networks.
A student who participated in the conference said, “I could learn economic and statistical knowledge while solving difficult problems with my team members.”
Professor Jaesung Choi, the Chair of Department of Global Economics, said “We have not been able to hold overseas academic events due to external factors. But from now on, we will continue to hold various events and seminars to increase students’ global competence.”
