2022 College of Economics Summer Commencement Ceremony Held
2022 College of Economics Summer Commencement Ceremony was held on August 23 (Tue) in Jo Byungdu Hall on the 5th floor of the 600th Anniversary Hall. It was the first offline ceremony in three years since 2019, and was held as a meaningful celebration.
With the school flag at the head, Sunghyun Kim (Dean of College of Economics), Jaehong Choi (President of College of Economics Alumni Association) Dongwon Lee (Chair, Department of Global Economics), Minsu Park (Chair, Department of Quantitative Applied Economics), Hyunchul Kim (Chair, Department of International Trade), Professor Jinhyung Lee, and Professor Jaesung Choi. In particular, all graduates who attended the commencement ceremony had time to receive their degree certificates directly from the dean of College of Economics.
A total of 216 students (excluding 17 students from the Department of Quant Applied Economics) were awarded degrees at the ceremony, with 152 undergraduate students, 58 masters, and six PhDs. Sunghyun Kim, Dean of College of Economics, said, "The knowledge and experiences I saw and learned at this school will be a foundation for success," and once again congratulated them on their meaningful graduation after finishing university life safely during difficult times.
In addition, the valedictorians, Jinyeong Yoo (Ph.D. in Economics) and Yoonbin Kim (undergraduate in Economics), expressed their strong will to “challenge with the mindset that we can start again even if there are various obstacles in the future.”
Many parents and acquaintances including faculty members of the College of Economics, attended the ceremony and the event ended successfully as graduates thanked their parents and professors and threw away their hats.
