SKKU Global Finance Research Center Hosts 

International Scholar Research Workshops

The SKKU Global Finance Research Center, under the Sungkyun Institution of Economic Research at Sungkyunkwan University, holds a Research Workshop (Saturday Seminar) every Saturday, inviting renowned scholars and experts.

On Saturday, June 15th, Professor Kyoung Jin Choi(University of Calgary) will present his research on “Portfolio Choice and Market Equilibrium under Standard of Living Preferences.” Professor Choi will also discuss students' papers and provide feedback on their research.

Professor Choi holds dual Ph.D. degrees in mathematics and economics, having earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from KAIST, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. He has served as a Fellow at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) and is currently an Area Chair at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary. 

Professor Choi is an authority in the fields of financial mathematics and financial economics, with numerous publications in top journals, including the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Operations Research, and Mathematical Finance, which is considered the premier journal in mathematical finance. He has frequently presented at Sungkyunkwan University's international finance conferences organized by Professor Doo-Jin Ryu, Director of the Sungkyun Institution of Economic Research, with whom he has maintained research exchanges and international collaborations since their time at KIAS 20 years ago.

This Saturday Seminar is open to all students affiliated with the Institute of Economic Research, the College of Economics (Departments of Economics, Global Economics, Statistics, and Trade), the BK21 Four Education and Research Group in Economics, and the ICT Innovation Talent 4.0 Project Group.
